On The Scoreboard, Rim Rukeh Jnr Fada's Journey Beyond The Track
At the Nigerian University Games and across regional university competitions, Rim Rukeh Jnr Fada of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE) continues to demonstrate the discipline, leadership, and commitment that define outstanding student athletes, earning his place on this week's NUGA Scoreboard Spotlight.
A 200m and 400m athlete, Rim has spent five years developing both as a competitor and a leader. His journey reflects a strong commitment to athletics, with his achievements extending beyond individual performance to creating opportunities for other athletes within his university.
One of the highlights of his sporting journey came in 2024 and 2025, when he emerged as a school champion. He also represented FUPRE at the 2024 NUGA Games, reaching the finals in the 200m, 400m, 4x100m, and 4x400m events.
Beyond competition, Rim organised the biggest track and field event ever held at his university, creating opportunities for other athletes to compete, develop, and grow.
In 2026, he represented Delta State at the AFN Golden League and the Niger Delta Games, taking his experience to bigger competitive stages.
Rim's journey reflects the values of resilience, leadership, initiative, and consistency that continue to shape student athletes within Nigerian universities. With FISU, the International University Sports Federation, FASU, the Federation of Africa University Sports, and WAUG, the West African University Games, ahead, his journey continues as he pursues further opportunities to compete, lead, and contribute to the growth of athletics.
