ATBU SUG Campus Super Cup 2026 Delivers Thrilling Football Action
The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University ATBU, Bauchi, through the Students Union Government SUG, successfully kicked off the Campus Super Cup 2026 with an exciting opening ceremony match held on Thursday, 5th March 2026 at the Yelwa Campus Stadium.
The opening fixture between All Stars FC and Devos FC set the tone for the tournament, delivering a thrilling seven goal encounter that ended 4 goals to 3 in favour of All Stars FC. Both teams displayed strong attacking intent, but All Stars FC proved more clinical, capitalising on key opportunities to secure a dramatic victory.
Since kickoff, the competition has continued to generate excitement across campus, with multiple fixtures showcasing high levels of skill, resilience, and competitive spirit. The tournament, an annual intra campus football event, brings together departmental and faculty-based teams, fostering unity, sportsmanship, and student engagement.
As the competition progresses, the 2026 edition has reached the semi final stage, featuring four strong contenders. All Stars FC, the defending champions, have reinforced their title credentials with a dominant 5 against 0 victory over EMV FC, highlighting their attacking strength and experience. PTDF FC, last editions runners up, advanced with a solid 3 goals to 0 win over Young Ballers, demonstrating discipline and consistency. Acces FC, representing the Computer and Communication Engineering Department, and Microbiology FC, another impressive departmental side, have also shown strong performances to secure their places in the final four.
These teams continue to embody the competitive spirit of the tournament, with matches characterised by high scoring encounters, tactical discipline, and moments of individual brilliance.
The competition is set to conclude with the final match on Sunday, 29th March 2026, at 4PM at the Yelwa Campus Stadium, where one team will emerge as champion of the 2026 edition.
